After working with his family on house renovations in the Adirondacks, Joe Serrins continued his education at the Rhode Island School of Design ('88–'93) where he studied art and architecture. Since graduation, he has worked extensively in New York and Miami for several influential design firms on residential and commercial commissions. Joe Serrins is a founding member of “Collaborative”, a four person, interdisciplinary design forum established in 2000. Collaborative has exhibited at the 2001 and 2002 ICFF in NYC, and at the 2003 Cooper Hewitt Design Museum Triennial. With the formation of his own design company in 2001, Joe Serrins Studio continues to focus on modern residential design, and looks to explore the built environment’s relationship to nature. |
